So when you are in the barracks, as on the example below, you see I can recruit 11800 soldiers in one go and then I have to wait 5+ minutes to do it again, so that will take about 1 hour to recover 100,000 troops and nobody has the time to sit at the PC all day and click the recruit button. And troops die everywhere and especially the Enemy Skirmishes / Challenge Monsters takes a huge amount of troops if you want to always have the highest chances for various special items.

So in conclusion, I highly recommend to give up the little bit extra Battle Rating from keeping prisoners and do everything you can to lose as few soldiers as possible.

]]>Notch Rocks are a type of an item that is used in various upgrades and especially in the beginning of the game it is very much needed, but as you progress forward and, most importantly, if you stick to one basic rule, which is to only collect rewards from the Hard (the right side) campaigns, which have a chance to drop Notch Rocks, then over time they will start to accumulate to the point where you gather 999 of them. When this happens the extra Notch Rocks will fall in the Pockets and will simply waste away.
So don’t worry at all about Notch Rocks – consider them an unlimited resource.

]]>When you unlock the Prison system in King of towers you become open to attacks by other players. When they attack you, and they will do that for sure, you will lose gold as well as resources. This is a normal part of the game and there is nothing wrong with it – you just have to be smart and make sure you lose as little as possible.
It is important to know that enemies who imprison you and plunder you cannot steal everything – there is a fixed list of items which are eligible “to be stolen”. And when it comes to resources these are mostly lower level resources and once you pass level 30 in your Towers’ level or your Spells’ level then you no longer need these lower level resources so you can either combine them or just forget about them.
Below you see 3 pictures of each of my towers back then in March/April 2015. Notice that my Level 29 Mage Tower requires 5 Rainbow Ore in order to get upgraded “fortified”. This is one of the lower level resources which can actually be stolen from you. On the other hand, if you pay attention to my Level 32 Cannon Tower or Level 42 Arrow Tower you will see that the Rainbow Ore is completely gone and replaced by the Quality Rainbow, which cannot be stolen via the Prison system!

Next, we look below at my Blizzard and Static spells. Notice that my level 30 Static spell requires 5 Earth Essences. These, again are on the list of resources which are eligible for theft via the Prison system. However, my level 31 Blizzard does not need any Earth Essences anymore and requires Pure Earth Essence, which is not on the Prison list.

So those resources which are not on the list you can stockpile as much as you want and feel 100% safe, because they simply cannot be stolen from you.
Notice also that the changeover happens after level 30, so you need to pass from 30 to 31 to take the benefit of this and be fully protected and safe from any attacks.

]]>The Arrow Towers cost 70 gold to place, has 565-754 damage, and then their upgrades cost like so (the damage figures are from my current tower upgrades of level 16):
Also important is the attack speed (about +8% per upgrade) and, as well, the slight increase in range as you upgrade towers.
So let’s assume we have 5000 gold to spend (taking a big number to get accurate results) – which way is the most effective? Which way gives us the most damage?
5000 gold buys you 71.4 towers which do 659 average damage each and in total will do 47107 damage.
5000 gold buys you 50 towers which do 1130 average damage each and in total (with +8% speed) will do 61047 damage.
5000 gold buys you 31.25 towers which do 1620 average damage each and in total (with +16% speed) will do 58743 damage.
5000 gold buys you 20.4 towers which do 1819 average damage each and in total (with +24% speed) will do 46032 damage.
Clearly, doing just 1 upgrade on the base arrow tower produces the biggest damage output. 2 upgrades come very close in damage, but the top upgrade is even worse damage than the original base tower, so stay away from the top upgrade until all tower slots have been occupied and upgraded 2 times.
So I must conclude that putting towers with 1 upgrade on as many slots as possible is the most effective way to win this Tower Defense game, followed by getting all towers to 2 upgrades before even considering the most expensive top upgrade tower option.
